From the first frenzy of bubbles, I fell in love.
In 2018, my journey with fermented foods began. It was sparked by my sons constant ear infections, one after the other. I started to research natural remedies and found a garlic clove and olive oil remedy, it worked, no more infections! I was intrigued, what else can garlic heal? During my research, a fermented garlic honey recipe piqued my interest. I popped some garlic cloves into a jar of raw honey and from the first frenzy of bubbles, I fell in love.
I stared experimenting with all types of ferments, but kept coming back to honey ferments. The combination of fermentation and raw honey produces a product with so many health benefits. Fermented foods in raw honey are uniquely delicious and there are numerous health benefits to consuming raw fermented honey. It provides prebiotics, probiotics and promotes better gut health. In 2021, I was in search of a small city to raise my son in and found the perfect community with home grown values, so we relocated to Winterville, GA. I continued to create and experiment with my concoctions, as my son calls them. Frequenting local farmers markets and talking with vendors, I discovered there is a certified kitchen in the city where I could produce my fermented food products to sell. With a robust local farm community, it was a perfect recipe to source high quality, pesticide free, non GMO local produce. And so, it began, Fermented Frenzy was created.
I am excited and honored to share my favorite honey fermented foods with you. If you love kimchi, sauerkraut, kefir, kombucha and beet kvass but want some variety and different flavors, consider our simple, nourishing and delicious honey ferments.
